Former President Donald Trump has promised to end federal funding for any school pushing the woke ideas of critical race theory (CRT) and transgenderism.
He made this vow in the form of a video statement sent to the parental rights group Moms for Liberty and was shared to X on Aug. 6. According to the former president, he plans to do this through an executive order (EO) on his first day in office if elected in November. Aside from this, he also promised to cut federal funding to schools imposing any “other inappropriate racial, sexual, or political content on our children.”
“On day one, I will sign a new EO to cut federal funding for any school pushing CRT, transgender insanity, and other inappropriate racial, sexual, or political content on our children. I will eliminate all diversity, equity, and inclusion programs across the entire federal government,” Trump said. “I will keep men out of women’s sports … and I will ask Congress to send a bill to my desk prohibiting child sexual mutilation in all 50 states.” (Related: If reelected, Trump promises to end “transgender insanity” in schools.)
Trump also promised to “direct the [Department of Justice] to pursue civil rights claims against any school or university that engages in racism rather than making decisions based on merit.” The former president did not stop there, as he also promised to “fire the rogue bureaucrats who have weaponized the justice system – starting with every corrupt official who has targeted Moms for Liberty.”
According to LifeSiteNews, CRT teaches that racism is tightly weaved into Western social institutions and that individuals are innately racist or oppressive by their race, color or sex. The theory has been taught in schools to both students and teachers. However, CRT has been blasted for its intensely divisive nature to the point that Whites – purportedly the most “privileged” – are themselves being excluded from work opportunities.
The former president also pledged to take aggressive action to reclaim the American system of higher education.
“We’re not going to have it any longer. When I’m your president, these communists, fascists and others will no longer be allowed to rule the lives of our children [and will] no longer be allowed to take away the authority of loving parents. Together we’re on a mission to take back our schools from the Marxists and Communists and the radical-left maniacs who are hellbent on indoctrinating our children,” Trump said.
“We will move education back to the states – we’re closing it up in Washington – and return everything back to the parents. It will be parental control.”
A separate report by Newsweek noted that Trump’s plan to cut federal funding for any school pushing woke ideologies on children is part of his 20-point platform adopted by the Republican National Committee (RNC). According to the RNC, his platform espouses a “pro-American agenda that stands in stark contrast to the record of weakness, failure and dishonesty created by [incumbent President] Joe Biden.”
A statement by Chris LaCivita and Susie Wiles, senior advisors to the Trump campaign, the real estate mogul’s 2024 GOP platform expresses his vision to Make America Great Again in a way that is concise and wholesome for every voter.
